A New Jersey mother of 3 and creator of shopping website TheShoppingDuck.com is about to spend an uber weekend in NYC for snapping this winning picture of a Union Beach New Jersey home sliced in half after Hurricane Sandy. Cecile Pryor
and her family were volunteering post Sandy at Union Beach and took the photo to memorialize the historic storm.
Cecile says “that house looked good compared to others.” She entered the photo in the Citybuzz NYC Matters contest which asked contestants to enter photos of “what matters to them”. Cecile subtitled the photo,”What matters to me is helping others less fortunate.”. The New Museum Judged the contest and its director Lisa Phillpis called the photo “piercing”. I agreee
